Day 30 - Supernova
Supernova - "a star that suddenly increases greatly in brightness because of a catastrophic explosion that ejects most of its mass."
Here's my concept.
The sword has a dying star as its core encased in a chamber which creates a fiery blade to shoot through the only opening possible. UP! A pair of flaps on the hilt help regulate the explosion inside the core. When it gets too hot, the flaps open to cool it down and vise versa.

This is my last post for this year's swordtember. Or is it? There are 10 more swords to go, that I missed at the start. So fear not! There shall be more swords!
